Senior Development Officer

Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a Senior Development Office for a reputable non profit organization in Regina.

 

As Senior Development Officer, and member of the fundraising development team, you will provide program leadership, fundraising strategies and proposal development, donor cultivation activities to encourage major gifts and planned giving.  The primary role focus will be major gifts ($10,000 and over), with support also provided to planned giving. 

 

Responsibilities include:

 

1.0  Program Leadership

-- Work collaboratively with the fundraising development team; develop program strategies and details to increase the number and value of annual major gifts and planned giving expectancies. 

 

--  Contribute to the operational and planning process in developing programs linked to the Foundation's strategic and business plan. Participate in the exchange of ideas and opportunities.

 

--  Maintain current knowledge and expertise in all aspects of gift planning vehicles, methods, relevant legislation, taxation, trends and opportunities.

 

2.0  Fundraising Development

 

--  Manage a portfolio of assigned major gift and planned giving prospects, representing a balance of prospects at various stages in the development continuum. 

 

--  Achieve targets by successfully moving prospects and donors through the solicitation cycle.  Accountabilities will include developing and implementing strategies for closing asks, and for continuous relationship building with prospects and donors.

 

3.0  Donor Stewardship

 

--  Work with the fundraising development team to ensure appropriate and timely acknowledgement and recognition of major gift and planned giving donors and volunteers. 

 

4.0  Communications and Marketing

 

--  Collaborate on the development of related marketing and promotional materials.

 

--  Build relationships with professionals to promote major gift and planned giving opportunities. 

 

 

 


Requirements
Education

--  A related post secondary education and/or professional accreditation.

--  A definite asset is the CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) designation.

--  Demonstrated knowledge in the area of major gift fundraising.

--  An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.

 

 


Experience

--  Approx 5 years experience in fundraising, with a proven ability to set and accomplish fundraising goals and establish priorities.  Demonstrated success in identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major gift donors.

 

--  Related experience in banking, financial/tax planning, securities or health care is an asset.

 

--  Knowledge of the Regina community; knowledge of business and community leaders.


Computer

Working knowledge of Word, Excel, database systems, website/internet.

Database asnd research experience, preferrably with Raiser's Edge.
